Lois L. Wheeler-Davidson-Honea, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2016, at the age of 102. Lois along with her twin sister Lula were born November 16, 1913 in Whitesboro, Texas, to Sidney and Clara Wheeler. Lois had 3 brothers and 3 sisters, all who proceeded her in death. Raised on what was was referred to as "The Old Homestead", outside of Whitesboro, Lois lived there until she married James Davidson in 1934. During WWII, she worked at Camp Howze doing her part for the war effort as a seamstress. She and James eventually settled in San Antonio, Texas where she worked as a seamstress for Finesilvers. She and James retired to Canyon Lake, Texas in the mid 1970's. After James' death she eventually married Boise Honea, who passed in 2001. Lois lived a very active life. She loved church, family, camping and dominoes. She lived on her own until the age of 100. Lois was proceeded in death by her only child, Wanda Lyles. Lois is survived by 3 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and 14 great great grandchildren. In her nearly 103 years she touched many lives and will be missed by many.
Public Visitation will begin 5:00 PM Wednesday at Zoeller Funeral Home and will continue until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday at Zoeller Funeral Home with burial to follow at 12:00 noon in Sunset Memorial Park, San Antonio. Memorial Contributions may be given to Comal County Senior Citizens Center. Arrangements under the direction of Zoeller Funeral Home, New Braunfels, TX.
