He was born in Hamilton, Texas on September 16, 1924 to James R. and Myrtle B. (Jordan) Tucker. Upon graduation from Gatesville High School, he joined the 263rd Army Air Force Base Unit as an aircraft mechanic where he was a Sergeant from 1943 through 1946. He also served in the Air Force Reserve after his active duty. He moved from Gatesville, Texas to New Braunfels and worked as a television technician until he retired.
He enjoyed the outdoors and loved to tend to his flowers and vegetable garden. He had a natural green thumb and seemed to grow anything with just a little bit of soil. He was happy to share the fruits of his labor with friends, neighbors and family. His greatest treasures were his grandchildren and especially his great-grandson.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Florence (Kallus) Tucker, daughter, Cynthia (Cyndee) Tucker of Cedar Creek, grandson, Bryan Falck of Kyle, granddaughter, Alyssa Falck of College Station, great-grandson, Russell Falck of Kyle, niece, Mary Smith and husband Terry of Victoria, neice, Susan Bowen and husband Kennard of New Braunfels and brother-in-law, George Goepf of New Braunfels.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Mary Klobedans and Mavalene Hillje, and son, Kenneth Tucker.
A heart-felt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at Kirkwood Manor and Hope Hospice for their support with his final days.
Visitation will be held Friday, October 31, 2014 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Zoeller Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 1, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Zoeller Funeral Home with interment to follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
