John “Johnny” B. Chambers Jr., passed away on July 8, 2010 at his residence in New Braunfels, at the age of 78. He was born to John B. “Buck” Chambers Sr., and Nannie Brooks Gayle Chambers on November 14, 1931 in Houston, Texas. Johnny was raised in Velasco, Texas. He is a veteran of the Armed Forces, serving in the Army, in which he was stationed in Germany. He was a graduate of the University of Texas, with a degree in accounting and worked for Celanese, in Bishop, Texas. He married Ann Davis of Cardiff, Wales in Freeport, Texas in 1956. During his working life, he was a little league coach for 15 years in Kingsville. When he and his wife, Ann, moved to New Braunfels, they became lifelong members of the First United Methodist Church of New Braunfels.
He is survived by Wife, Ann of New Braunfels; Daughters, Cathy Mosis and husband Marten of Friendswood, Texas, Julie Chambers of New Braunfels, Texas, and Megan Chambers of Austin, Texas; Son, John Chambers and wife Laura of Round Rock, Texas; Grandchildren, Buck Koalenz and fiancé Anna Rowell, Reid, Kalie and Lauren Mosis and Allison and Hunter Chambers; Sister, Nan Gayle Bass and husband Ogden of Freeport, Texas and Numerous Cousins, Nieces and Nephews residing all throughout Texas.
A Memorial Service will be conducted on Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the First United Methodist Church in New Braunfels at 11:00 A. M. Services will conclude in the church.
The family has requested that memorial contributions be given to the church or to Hope Hospice of New Braunfels.
