On Wednesday, October 5, 2022, Jerald Thomas Moore was called home to be with his savior. Our family will never be the same as we lost a devoted husband, a father who was always there for his children when we needed him most, a grandfather who didn't get enough time with his beloved granddaughter, and the kind of friend who would give anything he had to help someone in need.
Jerald was born in Kingsville, Texas on October 2, 1951 and graduated from high school in Bishop, Texas. While he had gone to high school with his wife, Linda Gerdes, it wasn't until several years after graduation that the two were encouraged to date by his mother, Sylvia, who worked with her at the bank. That encouragement from his mother ended up being a marriage that lasted for 46 years and blessed them with three children.
Jerald had many ups and downs in life, like losing his mother to cancer in 1979, which would affect him the rest of his life. However, despite it all, he continued to have faith, work hard, and do what was best for his family and friends. He worked hard his entire life and instilled that in his three children who learned from his example. When he did stop and slow down to take a break, he had a fondness for fishing at Baffin Bay in Rivera, Texas and later in life, playing games with his children on family game nights, and singing to his granddaughter.
Jerald is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda Moore, his three children, Sylvia Moore and her husband, Rabih Mouneimne, Lisa Fowler and her husband, Brant Fowler, and Daniel Moore, his granddaughter Gracie Moore-Moumneimne, and his brother Larry Moore and his wife, Celeste Moore. He was preceded in death by his mother Sylvia Audean Moore, and his father J.T. Moore.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 1:00 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St. New Braunfels, TX. 78130. In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to Samaritan’s Purse or a charity of one’s choice.
