Frankie Lee Neeley passed away peacefully on March 1, 2019, in New Braunfels, Texas. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on July 24, 1928 to parents Frank Campbell and Lorene (nee) Chuter. Frankie was a proud graduate of St. Gerard Catholic High School. She maintained life long friendships with some of her fellow classmates. She married the love of her life, Charles E. (Gene) Neeley on September 26, 1953. They spent 43 years happily married until his death in April 1996. She worked for Joseph T. Kenney Insurance for nearly 50 years and worked several more years at Village Insurance in Helotes until her retirement. While a parishioner at St. Thomas More Catholic Church in San Antonio, Frankie was involved in C.C.D. and scouting. She was a dedicated member of her parish. She was a parishioner at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church where she was involved Eucharistic Adoration, Bereavement Committee, and St. Ann's Christian Mother's Society. She was a giving person and always ready to help. Frankie was an avid bargain hunter. She was always so proud of her great deals. She and a few of her widowed friends enjoyed traveling together. She even went white water rafting in Canada and went on an Alaskan cruise. She loved to gamble (played the nickel machines mostly) in Las Vegas and Lake Charles. Even when she didn't win, she still enjoyed herself. She was truly proud of her Irish heritage. Her father's family came from Ireland to Texas in the 1840's and built the Campbell log cabin, which was moved to downtown Seguin and restored by the Conservation Society. Frankie was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gene Neeley; brothers, Joseph Campbell and Leroy Campbell (Mildred); and sister-in-law, Ann Nelson. She is survived by her son, Mark Neeley; daughter Lynn Plumbley (William); brother-in-law Bill Neeley (Norma); brother-in-law Richard Nelson (Melissa); and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and longtime friends. The family would like to thank her doctors and nurses, the staff at Kirkwood Manor, and Hope Hospice caregivers. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the charity of one's choice. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, March 22, 2019 at 10:00 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Braunfels, Texas, with visitation starting one hour prior. A Reception will follow the service. Burial will take place at 1:30 PM at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
