Dwight was born on January 21, 1953 to Alcot and Alyce (Sagebiel) Kanz in San Antonio, Texas. He grew up in New Braunfels and was an avid sportsman who played baseball and basketball for his alma mater, Canyon High School. After graduation, he went in to the furniture manufacturing business at Barkel, Inc. and in 1987 opened his own successful upholstery business in New Braunfels. What Dwight loved most was spending time with his family, camping, and watching his grandchildren play sports. He also loved to hunt, fish and carry on the family tradition of making sausage. He was blessed with a loving family, wonderful friends and good times, and we were blessed to have him in our life.
