Mrs Dorothy A Hanson

Dorothy Ann (Wenzel) Hanson was born on December 18, 1944. She passed away on August 13, 2017 at the age of 72 .She married Larry Wayne Hanson Sr. on September 5, 1964, and spent the next 48 years in holy matrimony before his death in 2013 and together were blessed with a daughter and two sons.

Dorothy is survived by daughter, Connie S. Hodges and husband Scott of Austin; sons, Larry Hanson, Jr. and wife Lori of San Antonio and Terry Hanson of New Braunfels;.and six grandchildren, Kelsey, Kendall, Kourtney, Tristan, Elizabeth and Zachary. She is also survived by her loving brothers, Leonard Wenzel and Leroy Wenzel; sisters-in-law, Delores Wenzel, Pat Wenzel, Lue Wenzel, Eunice Jozwiak and Vera Lange; a brother-in-law, Marvin Hanson along with many loving nieces and nephews from both the Hanson and Wenzel families.

Dorothy was employed by both NBISD and CISD as a cafeteria worker for over 30 years. She volunteered her time as Den mother in Cub Scouts, PTA, and was always there in a time of need when children were involved.

She enjoyed baking, yard work, gardening, was an avid Spurs fan and spending time with her 6 grandchildren who affectionately referred to her as “Omie”.

Public Visitation will begin 5:00 PM Wednesday at Zoeller Funeral Home and continue until 8:00 PM. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 AM Thursday, August 17, 2017 at St. Paul Lutheran Church New Braunfels with Pastor Paul Owen officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Hope Hospice New Braunfels or to a Charity of one's choice. Arrangements under the direction of Zoeller Funeral Home, New Braunfels, TX.
