Carroll Dale “C.D.” Trotter passed away peacefully at his home in Seguin on Wednesday, August 19, 2020 at the age of 82. C.D. was born on September 13, 1937 in Mangum, Oklahoma to Odei and Lahoma Trotter. Shortly thereafter C.D. moved with his parents to Hobbs, New Mexico where he lived for many years before moving to Texas.
While living in Hobbs he attended Hobbs High School. After high school he married his first wife Lola Mae where together they had four children. While living in Hobbs he worked in the oil field as a roustabout, heavy equipment operator and an over the rode truck driver. C.D. loved working more than most and spent a lot of time away from home due to his profession. This was something he came to regret in the last days of his life. After moving to Texas, he remarried to LaNita where together they had two children in Odessa, TX. While living in Odessa, C.D drove over the road with McCallister Trucking for many years. He drove to and from Illinois, Missouri and Connecticut. After his driving career with McCallister; he went on to work at Neal Pool Rekers where he owned and operated his own Mormon wrecker. After several years at Neal Pool, C.D moved to Grape Creek where he and his children raised show rabbits. From there he moved to Lake Colorado City where he worked for Lone Wolf Construction as a heavy equipment operator. Later, he moved to Coahoma where he lived and worked on a deer lease which he ran with his son Dennis Yeager. After a few years in Coahoma he and Dennis moved to Fredericksburg, where he was the ranch foreman for Diamond Y Ranch. C.D was an integral part of what Diamond Y Ranch is today. He loved everything about the ranch life and put his heart and soul in it until he was 81 years old. He then moved to Seguin where he lived with his son Rusty and daughter in law Stephanie until the day of his passing.
