Caroyln Ann Pittman, aged 69, entered God’s embrace on November 16, 2024, in New Braunfels, TX. Born on September 25, 1955, Carolyn was a lifelong resident of New Braunfels, where she graduated from New Braunfels High School before attending Texas State University.
Carolyn devoted her professional life to the educating of young minds, where she made significant contributions first as a teacher and then an administrator within Comal ISD Schools until her retirement in 2010. She dedicated her life to teaching, advising, nurturing, and caring for her students. The bonds she created with her students and faculty members were the most important things in her career. Her dedication to education and the development of young minds marked a notable career spanning several decades.
Aside from her professional achievements, Carolyn had a passion for creating mosaics. She poured her heart and soul into her artwork, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the pleasure of experiencing her creations.
Carolyn was also dedicated to living her life by God. Her unwavering faith carrying her through life, especially in the last four years. She tried to live her life by the Prayer of St. Francis of Assisi. She also recited Psalm 23 every night since being diagnosed with cancer.
She is survived by her husband, Robert Pittman; children, Randall Pittman (Violetta Pittman) and Amanda Tiner (Trey Tiner) and grandchildren Rhyse Pittman and Ella Pittman, her mother Virginia Ikels, her brothers Danny Ikels and Douglas Ikels, her sister Cathy Rivard, and several nieces and nephews; and was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert Ikels; brother, David Ikels; and nephew, Benjamin Ikels.
Carolyn's life was marked by her dedication to her family, her passion for educating young minds as well as those around her, and her enduring kindness and faith. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Visitation and viewing will be on Tuesday 11/26/24 from 5pm-9pm, Rosary at 7pm, at Zoeller’s Funeral home in New Braunfels. Church service will be on Wednesday 11/27 at 10am at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church in New Braunfels with reception to follow at St. Mary’s Hall.
