His charismatic nature was evident early on, and he had a charm, and smile that would light up any room he walked in to. He had one brother Kenneth ( Shorty ), and growing up they shared a love for baseball, and old westerns that lasted a lifetime. As a teenager he met Sharon, and that started a journey that led him to marriage, and his two sons in Carlon, and Les. That beginning was the foundation of what he held close to his heart always.
He served in the United States Navy as an E-3, and was a Vietnam Veteran running Assault Craft Unit One.
After the war he became an Iron Worker, and stayed in that profession for 25 years which he was always very proud of. Most of the downtown skylines in South Texas were built by his crew he worked with.
He was a man who loved family. A generous soul, who was never afraid of a hard days work. He enjoyed camping, fishing, bowling, farming, hunting, gardening, and he could build almost anything he imagined. He was a king on the bbq pit, famous for his pot of beans, and had a love for music, and dancing that really embodied his spirit for life.
He is survived by his two sons Carlon, and Les Haas. Grandchildren Hannah, Stella, Alijah, and Sebastian Haas. His ex wife Sharon, mother of his sons, his brother Shorty, nephew John Haas, and all his nieces and nephews, and their respective families.
He ain’t heavy, he’s my brother. Rest in peace, until we meet again.
We love you always.
A Memorial Service for Carlon will be held Friday, November 11, 2022 at 6:00 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St. New Braunfels, Texas
