Bryce Hughes, 19, of New Braunfels, passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2016, at the Central Texas Medical Center in San Marcos. He was born to Erik and Jennie (Wells) Hughes in Lubbock on January 7, 1997. Bryce graduated New Braunfels High School class of 2015 and was attending Austin Community College.
Everyone who knew Bryce knew of his passion for skateboarding and snowboarding. He was making plans to move to Colorado to work as a snowboard instructor next winter.
He is survived by his loving parents, Erik and Jennie (Wells) Hughes of New Braunfels; sisters, Lexi Hughes and Chloie Ryan Hughes; paternal grandparents, Phyllis Hughes and Larry Swift of Hearne, TX; maternal grandparents, Jim and Chloie Wells of Tahoka, TX; uncles and aunts, Chad and Marci Hughes of San Antonio; Michael and Aleisha (Hughes) Doupoula of Little Elm, TX; Matt and Kelly Kallail of Round Rock, TX; Chris and Abby Thompson of Odessa, TX; and Matthew Wells of Lubbock, TX; great grandparents, Earl and Jimsey Krieg of Whitney, TX.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Michael David Hughes; great-grandparents, Dale and Kay Hughes. Maternal great-grandparents, Maurice and Grace Huffaker; and George Claud and Ruth Wells.
Public visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Freedom Fellowship Church in New Braunfels and will continue until service time at 11:00 a.m. with Pastors Dennis Gallaher and Stan Cosby officiating.
