

Bernhard F. Falkenberg, 95, of New Braunfels, passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2013 at the Oaktree Assisted Living in New Braunfels. He was born to Henry Falkenberg and Mathilde Schroeder Falkenberg in Crawford, Texas on January 13, 1918. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII and was a Past Commander and Life Member of the V.F.W. Post 7110. He worked at the Comal Hosiery Mills for many years and also for the Wustfest Association for many years. He was very active in church life at St. Paul Lutheran Church New Braunfels and Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Knippa, Texas.
He is survived by his wife, Erna Falkenberg of New Braunfels; daughters, Ann Baese and husband Arlon of New Braunfels, Jean Davidson of Rockwall, Texas, Gail Dolle and husband Larry of New Braunfels; and step-children, Betty Hildebrandt and husband Walter of Schulenburg, TX; Carolyn Reagan and husband Bob of Knippa, TX, and son, Victor John Niemeyer and wife Kay of Knippa, TX.
He was preceded in death by parents; his wife, Ada Falkenberg; son-in-law, Marshall Davidson, Jr.; granddaughter, Kristen Davidson; 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, January 24, 2013 at St. Paul Lutheran Church New Braunfels with Pastor Reverend Paul Owens officiating. Interment will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. Memorial Contributions may be given to Hope Hospice or to Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Knippa, Texas.
