William Edward Wachsmuth

William G. Wachsmuth, 81, of New Bern, passed away Thursday, August 25, 2016 at his home. He was born in NY and worked for NY Phone Companies for 35 yrs as a supervisor. He was a member of St. Paul's Catholic Church, Riverbend Country Club and he was a US Army veteran. Most of all he was a gentleman. He was kind, loving and generous. He would lend a hand to anyone and always saw the positive side of every situation. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. We will miss his bear hugs, stories and crazy sense of humor. But most of all we will miss Him!

He is survived by his loving wife of nearly 60 years Claire E. Wachsmuth ; son William G. Wachsmuth of New Bern; daughter Debra Krukowski and husband James Krukowski, M.D. of New Bern, and grandchildren Alexandra and Olivia Runne (husband Ryan), Frank Occhiogrosso ( wife Emily and their children Leah and Frank) and Theresa Oberer ( husband Michael).

The funeral mass will be at 1 PM Monday, August 29, 2016 at St. Paul Catholic Church. The family will receive friends following the service in the atrium.
