It is with great sadness that the Lupton family announces the tragic untimely passing of Wesley Brent Lupton on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at the age of 71. Wesley was born in Craven County on May 30, 1953 to Wesley Andrew Lupton and Cleo Virginia McArthur Lupton.
Brent was strong willed and stubborn at times, but he also had an enormous heart and wonderful sense of
humor. He was generous, loyal, and brave. He was clever and full to the brim with knowledge gained
through all of his life experiences: automotive mechanic, hunter, fisherman, he could fix vehicles all day long and did so for more than 50 years, or just sit and talk about his many hunting or fishing adventures.
He will be remembered for all the heart he shared with his friends and family. He truly loved each of them and if you knew him, you knew it.
In typical Brent fashion, there are no services planned. His only request was to have his ashes scattered over places he loved the most.
Thankful for his life and continuing in his memory are his beloved wife of 50 years Kay Dudley Lupton, daughters Leila Lupton Scott (Erik), Genie Lupton Lassiter (Anthony) grandchildren Andrew Holcombe, Keegan Scott, Brandy Lassiter, Kayde Lassiter, also brother and sister-in law Brian and Susan Dudley along with many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his parents Wesley and Cleo Lupton, mother and father-in law Jasper and Leila Dudley, sister-in law Joyce Dudley Eborn and brother-in law Jasper Dudley Jr.
The family would like to thank everyone who took a moment out of their busy lives to express their condolences.
Cotten Funeral Home is honored to serve the family and friends of Wesley Lupton.
