Robert Henry Strong

Robert was born in Amityville, New York, to John and Louise Strong. A proud veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard, he dedicated his life to service and family. Bob made New Bern his home in 2002, where he enjoyed his passion for classic cars. Bob was an active member of a local car club and loved sharing his enthusiasm for automobiles with those around him.

Bob was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marlene Hope Strong. He is survived by his sons, James Strong, Mark Strong, and Robert Strong; his daughters, Suzanne Strong and Sandra Vichery; and more than 10 grandchildren who were the light of his life.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 9, 2025 from 9:30am to 10:30am at Cotten Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 12:00pm Wednesday, April 9, 2025 at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Bob’s memory will be cherished by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. His legacy of love, loyalty, and joy for life will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
