Richard Barker Stewart

Prior to having his stroke in 2003, Richard loved his job at Mitchell's Hardware in downtown New Bern. When he wasn't working, he enjoyed playing his guitars, fishing, watching "The Three Stooges" and spending time with his family. He resided in Gulf Breeze, Florida at Bay Breeze Nursing & Rehabilitation from 2014 until his passing.

Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 5, 2018, followed by a memorial service at 2:00 p.m. at Cotten Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Cedar Grove Cemetery in New Bern.

Richard is survived by three sons, Richard Frazier Stewart and wife Diana, of Florida, Thomas Michael Stewart and Stephen Brian Stewart, both of New Bern; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
