Richard “Dick” Emerson Smith, aged 85, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2024, after a courageous battle with a prolonged illness. Born on August 28, 1939, in Middleboro, MA, Dick was known for his quick wit, caring nature, and remarkable green thumb. A passionate gardener, his home was always filled with blooming plants, and he found joy in sharing his knowledge with friends and neighbors.
A devoted father, adored grandfather, and beloved husband of 48 years to Bonnie Smith, Dick’s love for his family and his ability to make others smile will be deeply missed.
He is survived by his sons, Craig Smith (wife, Audrey Smith) and Kyle Donargo (wife, Ali Donargo), along with his cherished grandchildren, Aidan Smith (17) and Sada Smith (14). Dick was preceded in death by his parents, A. Gordon and Hazel Smith, and his sister, Beverly Weber.
