Richard Franklin Fulcher, age 70, of New Bern, North Carolina passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021. Richard was born October 31, 1950 in New Bern, North Carolina to the late Richard E. Fulcher and Mamie Parker Fulcher.
He is predeceased by, sisters, Bonnie Flynn and Linda Arthur. Surviving him are his loving wife, Ardythe Fulcher, sons; Todd J. Fulcher and wife, Summer and Jeff S. Fulcher and wife, Star, five grandchildren; Makayla, Allison, Wyatt, Steven and Tilghman, brother, Edwin Gerald Fulcher and wife, Sandra, brother-in-law, Jimmy Arthur, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Frank was a Vietnam veteran in the United States Army, First Aviation Brigade, 238th Battalion. After his time in the service he enjoyed a long career of 30 plus years at Cherry Point Naval Aviation Depot. He enjoyed talking cars weekly with his friends for lunch on Thursdays and then again on Saturday mornings. This group of friends provided much needed love, support and encouragement over the past year. Frank had a love for the outdoors; scuba diving, riding motorcycles and playing golf with friends. Frank was a faithful follower of Jesus attending his home church, Port City Community Church in New Bern. He was a member of the Grantham Masonic Lodge Number 725 AF&AM and the New Bern York Rite Bodies. Everyone knew Frank from his big smile and quick wit. He loved to laugh and bring joy to others. He was a devoted husband of 50 years. He loved his family, especially his sons and those who called him Papa.
The family is grateful for the support and encouragement from the staff at the CarolinaEast Cancer Center, as well as, the staff at Craven County Hospice. The family would also like to thank the Port City Community Church family and Community Bible Study (CBS), for their continuous love and support.
The family will receive friends at 10:00 AM on Saturday, October 2, 2021 at Port City Community Church, 2840 Neuse Blvd, New Bern, NC 28562. Memorial Service with military honors will follow in the chapel at 11:00 AM.
