Rebecca Suzanne Scott

Rebecca “Becky” Suzanne Scott, age 53, passed away suddenly at her home on Sunday, October 15, 2023. Becky was born June 13, 1970 to the late George Edward Scott and Celestial Rowell Scott of New Bern.

She is survived by her loving partner in life, Pete Hartwig of New Bern who loved her with his heart and soul, her two wonderful daughters, Sara Singleton (Tyler) of Greenville, NC & Abby Tyndall of New Bern, and sister, Penny Petrillo of San Diego, CA.

Becky lived a life of creativity, filled with art and music. She was a very talented artist and enjoyed sharing that passion with those around her. She was an avid Tarheel fan and could always be seen donning their colors.

She enjoyed the company of countless family and friends and deeply loved her many pets. She loved to cook and always made sure everyone’s bellies were full. She will be greatly missed and has left many happy memories and a lasting impression on the hearts of everyone who knew her.

Services will be held at 1 pm Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at Cotten Chapel with the Rev. Scott Coghill officiating. There will be a viewing and visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery; 1086 Oak Grove Rd. Pollocksville, NC 28573.
