Reba Amerson Adams, 92, of Cove City, North Carolina, passed away on Monday, January 23, 2023. Born on October 5, 1930, Reba was the daughter of the late Lonnie Amerson and Mamie Webb Amerson and lived all her life on Highway 55 near Cove City.
Reba married Samuel Lee "Tom" Adams, Sr. on December 30, 1953 and they shared 38 years of marriage until his passing in 1991. She was a farmers wife and homemaker. Reba loved the Lord and her family dearly and always made sure they were taken care of. She enjoyed gardening and taking trips with friends, family, and her church family. She was a longtime member of Wintergreen Free Will Baptist Church and Wintergreen Women's Auxiliary. Reba enjoyed making flower arrangements for her church out of her many flower gardens. She was a member of the North Carolina Farm Bureau and attended many conventions through the years. Most of all, she was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister to her family.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Dale Adams Dawson; her son-in-law, Johnny Franklin Watson; her sister, Ramona Davis; and her brothers, Jesse and Doug Amerson.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Adams Watson; son, Samuel Lee Adams, Jr. (Nancy); son-in-law, Johnnie Sheldon Dawson; brother, Charles Brooks Amerson (Claudette); grandchildren, John Dawson (Julie), Katherine Dawson Hathaway, Wayne Koonce, Hannah Cooke (Ricky), Sommer Adams, and Kyle Adams; great grandchildren, Georgia and Rachel Dawson, Adam and Davis Hathaway, Rylee Koonce, Craig, Rick and Alexia Cooke, and Waylon Mills; many nieces and nephews; and her faithful felines, Babie and Calie.
The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday, January 27, 2023 at Wintergreen F.W.B. Church followed by the service at 2 p.m. with Pastor Calvin Heath, Rev. Rudy Shepard, and Rev. Mike Scott officiating. She will then be laid to rest with her husband in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Reba's name to Wintergreen F.W.B. Church. The family would like to thank Community Hospice and caretakers, Debbie, Kim, and Kathy for their loving care.
