Gran loved Jesus and she loved to tell others about Him. Even though, it is sad that Peggy is no longer here on earth with us, we all have the hope and joy that she is in the presence of the King. Surely, she heard, "Well done thou good and faithful servant." Two of Peggy's favorite verses are John 3:16 "For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him, should not perish, but have everlasting life" and Romans 8:28 "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose."
One of Peggy's greatest joys was playing basketball in high school. When she played basketball, Peggy proudly wore the #4 on her jersey, and usually scored 4 points. In addition to basketball, Peggy loved all flowers, flamingos, and cooking country food for her family and friends. Her passing on Leap Year is very fitting for her personality and sense of humor. Peggy truly had a servant's heart, and she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her son, Billy White, Jr. (Julia); daughter, Terry Chadwick (Johnnie); her first grandchild, John Matthew Chadwick and his wife, Melissa, and together they have 3 children, Hadley, Heidi, and Hayden; grandson, Gabriel White Chadwick and his wife, Sarah, and together they have one son, Beau; grandson, Daniel Walton White and his wife, Charlotte Anne, and together they have a son, Henry Walton; granddaughter, Ruth Anne Cramer and her husband, Zack, and together they are expecting their first child in July, Darcy Anne; grandson, Zach White and his wife, McKenzie; and many loving family members and close friends. They were all the loves of her life.
Peggy is preceded in death by her loving husband of 60 years, Billy White, Sr.; son, David White; grandchild, David Andrew Chadwick; two great-grandbabies; 5 sisters; and 3 brothers.
A celebration of Peggy's life will begin at 2:00 pm on Thursday, March 7, 2024, at Cotten Funeral Home with her son, Billy White, Jr. officiating the service. The family will receive visitors following the service.
Cotten Funeral Home is honored to serve the family and friends of Peggy Hargett White.
