Norman Lee King, Sr.

Norman Lee King, Sr., 80, of New Bern, NC passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2022. Norman was born in Hannibal, MO on July 7, 1942 to Chester King and Sadie Pearl Welch King. Norm lived a long full life, just how he wanted.

In earlier years, he was an avid golfer and dancing with Pat at every opportunity. Later he would enjoy ‘puttering’ around his yard and working in his ‘work shops’. On Sundays and Mondays you could always find him sitting comfortably in his recliner, watching FOOTBALL. He always enjoyed spending time with his family, and at the VFW Post. The people at the post were his extended family and a community that kept him going.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years, Patricia L King; two sons, Norman L. King, Jr. (Yvette Siegel-King), of Williston, ND and Jody L. King (Joann M Lilly), of New Bern, NC. Nine grandchildren: Crystal Lane King, Heather Leanne King, Charlotte Raeline Martin, Kaylyn Elizabeth Zocco-Hochhalter, Jaye Lynette Siegel-Keyes, John David Bullock, Cali-Ann Lilly Sarah, Lawrence Linwood King and Zachary Lee King and seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester King and Sadie Pearl King and his siblings, Henry (Buddy) Clay King, Leona (Sissy) Pearl Brown and Marilyn Sue Humphrey.

In lieu of flowers, Miss Pat asks that you make a donation to the American Heart association in Pop’s name.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 23, 2022 at 6:00 PM at Cotten Funeral Home with Military honors.
