Norma was born August 8th, 1937, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She was the only child of Louie and Essie Bullock Rogers of Petal, MS where she grew up. She graduated from William Carey University and University of Mississippi where she studied Chemistry and Library Sciences.
She moved to Charleston, WV IN 1961 to work for Union Carbide where she was employed for 38 years before retiring. She married the love of her life, Clarence A. “Buddy” Lawson, Jr. on March 21, 1964. Buddy passed away in June 2013.
She was a member of Baptist Temple of Charleston and formerly of Macedonia Baptist Church of Petal, MS.
She is survived by her son Todd, daughter-in-law Katrena and her granddaughter Tori. She is also survived by her Sister-in-Law, Mary Ann Eaton, and many nieces and nephews. She has several cousins in Mississippi and Alabama.
She will be cremated at Cotten Funeral Home in New Bern, NC. At the time of her passing she resided with her son’s family in NC.
She requested no memorial service; however, a private memorial will be held with close family at a later date.
