Neal Shelden Harrison, 93 of Trent Woods, North Carolina passed away at his home on Sunday, January 22, 2023. Neal was born in Marines, North Carolina on September 21, 1929 to the late Bruce Harrison and Gladys Henderson Harrison.
Neal served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean War on the U.S.S. Valley Forge. After serving his country, he attended North Carolina State University but was a die-hard Tar Heel fan.
Neal's work lead him through a life of adventure around the world. He worked in many different capacities including the installation of an anti-ballistic missile system in Thule, Greenland; crucial electrical management for an oil company in North Africa; and management of electrical support for nuclear power plants throughout the United States. After his retirement he embarked on a new adventure as Business Administrator for the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers in Wilmington, North Carolina. After his "real" retirement at the age of 80, he enjoyed fishing, boating, and auto racing with his son, and on the other hand, "refurbishing riding lawn mowers".
He is survived by his wife, Clara Pelletier Harrison; son, Neal S. Harrison, Jr. (Bibi); and daughter, Susan
P. Harrison, and various nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is predeceased by his brother, Bruce Harrison, Jr.; sister, Jeanette Gunter;
and brother, Douglas Harrison,

A Celebration of Neal's life will be held at the chapel at Greenleaf Memorial Park on Sunday, January 29, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. The internment will be on Monday, January 30,2023 at 2:00 PM at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
