On December 31, 2021, Nancy Delbridge Singleton, 79 of New Bern, North Carolina was called to her heavenly home to be with the Lord. She was born in Emporia, Virginia on December 8, 1942 to the late Herbert Delbridge, Sr. and Dossie Gordon Delbridge.
Nancy spent her adult life in New Bern where she was a charter member of Crossroads Baptist Church.
She worked at Sagner’s Sewing Room, Hatteras Yachts and retired from B/S/H/. The job she valued most was raising her family. Nancy was the strong matriarch of her close-nit family and loved spending family time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Nancy was an avid Bingo and card player. She enjoyed her weekly canasta games with her special friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father and her beloved sister, Barbara Webb.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Michael Singleton of the home; her loving canine companion, Molly Mae; her four children, Caroline Cook (James) of Kinston, David Cook, Sr. (Anita) of New Bern, Pam Snipes (Steve) of New Bern, Sheila Raines (John) of Vanceboro. She loved her ten grandchildren dearly, Jamie Littleton (Heather), Brandy Carpenter (Phillip), Trey Littleton (Erin), David Cook, Jr., Taylor Niemotka, Justin Snipes, Jarrett Snipes, Jeremy Snipes, John (T.J.) Raines and Summer Raines. She had six great-grandchildren whom she adored, Austin Littleton, Alyssa Littleton, Aubree Littleton, Bowen Carpenter, Lilly Kate Carpenter and Quinley Littleton. She also leaves to cherish her memory: brothers, Herbert Delbridge, Jr. (Linda) of Rockville, Virginia and Jerry Delbridge of Emporia, Virginia; sisters, Elaine Lynch of Lawrenceville, Virginia and Marion Warren of Santa Fe, Tennessee; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. Nancy will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will be held at Cotten Funeral Home on Tuesday, January 4, 2021 at 1pm and services will be held at 2pm. A graveside service will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery, 1112 Chelsea Road, New Bern.
