Mary Poole Predaris

Mary was born on April 27, 1924 in Iredell County, NC (Statesville) to the late William S. and Mary Reavis Poole. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her loving husband of 64 years, Spiro G. “Spike” Predaris. She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Floyd, Alfred, Marvin, Coyte, Paul and Reitzel Poole; and her sisters, Beulah P. Beck and Dorothy (Dot) P. Ivwin.

Mary was a long time member of First Baptist Church of New Bern. She served as a Sunday school teacher for many years before joining the Mary-Martha Sunday school class.

Mary is survived by two sons, Jerry Predaris of Los Angeles, CA, Steve Predaris and wife Ann of New Bern; one daughter, Katherine P. Daniels and husband Tommy of New Bern; one grandson, Christopher Daniels of New Bern; one step-granddaughter, Tammy D. Guggino and husband Tommy of Cape Carteret; one step-great-grandson, Trey Guggino; one sister, Lois P. Coburn of Hanahan, SC, her sister in-law Peggy Poole of Garden Grove, CA; and many nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, August 31, 2014 at Cotten Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
