He attended Temple Baptist Church and enjoyed going to the Senior Sunday School Class. Tommy loved hunting, fishing and working on his boats.
He is predeceased by his wife, Jeanette Gibson; brother, Charlie Gibson; sister, Mary “Sister” Gibson; grandson, Todd Elzy; son-in-law, Jim Elzy ;1 great-grandchild and 1 great-great grandchild.
He is survived by his sons, Luke Gibson (Hope) and David Gibson (Samantha); daughter, Jenny Elzy; grandchildren, April Gaskins (Ray), Spencer Gibson, Patrick Gibson (Windsor), Baylee Ipock (Logan), Michelle Millett (Scott), Renee Jeffries (Steve), Jeanette Nix (Tony); 23 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great Grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held 11:00am Friday, March 3, 2023 at Cotten Funeral Home. Burial will follow at New Bern Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends following the service at New Bern Memorial Cemetery.
