Louise Theisen, 74, of New Bern, entered eternal rest on June 22, 2023. She was born November 30, 1948, to the late Edward and Vera Williams. Louise, a most devoted wife and mother, is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Peter Theisen; daughter Linnea and son-in-law Tollen Ebbens; son, Darrian and daughter-in-law Christina Theisen, and granddaughter Peyton and grandson Landon; and cousins Virginia Bettis and Birdy Crane. Louise had many wonderful friends, both near and far, and she held those relationships very dear to her heart.
She is preceded in death by Edward and Vera Williams, Eleanor Williams, and Madeleine and Jean-Pierre Theisen.
Louise grew up in Rutherford, NJ. Upon graduation from Rutherford high school, Louise attended Pennsylvania State University, where she met the love of her life, Peter, and they married shortly after graduation. They settled in Warwick, NY, where they lived for 30 years with their two children. While living in NY, Louise wore an array of “work hats” - dedicated wife and mom, office manager at Mountainview Stables, wine server/manager at Applewood winery with the Hull family, volunteer and staff member at Winslow Therapeutic Center, and bookkeeper at Advanced Chemical with the Mondello family. Louise loved to go on traveling adventures with family and friends; some of her favorite trips included Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Maryland and Texas, as well as Kentucky, Tennessee, Florida, and Hawaii. Louise enjoyed making new friends everywhere she went and often shared stories of her beloved animals and children.
In October 2002, Louise and Peter relocated to New Bern, NC where they built a beautiful home at “Rivercreek Farm”, caring for a variety of animals throughout the years, including 3 beloved horses: Fiola, Z, & Marvin; many dogs including Glory, Scooby, Brindle, Dusty, Jasmine, & Snow; and several potbellied pigs - Fugitive, Madison, & Francine (Cici).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in loving memory of Louise locally to Colonial Capital Humane Society (Colonial Capital Humane Society- Attn: Capital Campaign, PO Box 326, New Bern, NC 28563) or North Shore Animal League America (https://www.animalleague.org).
The family would like to thank the staff at Accommodating Home Health Care Services and Craven County Hospice for the compassionate care and support they provided.
