Salisbury—Louise May Kamasin Rossi, 86, went home to the Lord on Friday, December 21, 2012.
Born May 28, 1926, in Detroit, Michigan, Louise was the daughter of the late Josephine Stancil and William F. Kamasin. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Major Robert J. Rossi, Sr. (USMC), whom she married June 15, 1946, her sister, Eleanor E. Watson, and granddaughter Jennifer Louise Rossi. She was of the Catholic faith.
Louise graduated from Fordson High School in Dearborn, Michigan, and briefly served in the United States Marine Corps, where she met her husband. A devoted military wife and homemaker to her seven children, she later worked as a medical receptionist for many years at New Bern Family Practice. After retirement, Louise enjoyed volunteering at Craven Regional Medical Center and the American Red Cross. She was also an avid birdwatcher and loved college basketball and professional tennis.
Louise is survived by her two daughters, Christine R. Littleton, of Salisbury, and Elizabeth L. Rossi, of Seattle, Washington, and five sons, Robert J. Rossi, Jr., of Winterville, Mark W. Rossi, Michael T. Rossi, and Matthew L. Rossi, all of New Bern, and Thomas A. Rossi, of Mount Pleasant, South Carolina, as well as twelve grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
A private family burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, December 28, 2012, at Greenleaf Memorial Park in New Bern.

The family would like to extend its sincere gratitude to Dr. Dem Ward of Salisbury Internal Medicine and Dr. Dennis Wilson of Mid Carolina Cardiology for their kind and compassionate medical care of Louise during her time in Salisbury and to Dr. Kenneth Lance of First Baptist Church of Salisbury for his special spiritual care of Louise.
