Trenton native, Lottie Chadwick Carroll, passed away peacefully on December 27, 2022. Lottie was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Roland L. Chadwick. She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, sister, loving husband Nimrod Davis Carroll, and daughter, Melony Carroll Mills. She is survived by her son Davis Craig Carroll (Joy), and Granddaughters Keely Mills Koonce (Kyle) and Langley Mills and great Grandsons, Knox and Kross Koonce; son-in-law, Ronnie Mills. Lottie always put family first and cherished her time spent with them.
Lottie grew up in a farm family in Trenton, which gave her the strong work ethic that sculpted her core values. Later in life she joined the Production Credit Association (Ag Carolina) team where she retired after 20 plus years. Lottie was able to show her many strengths in the work environment, and took pride in helping others.
Lottie never met a stranger. She often walked into any room and made every person feel welcome. A true example of southern hospitality, she loved to entertain and host large gatherings with friends and family. That transferred into serving at her church Trenton Methodist, where she loved cooking, serving, and joining others in fellowship.
After retirement, she was often found on the golf course, where she earned multiple titles and spent time living in Florida. However, retirement life changed when she moved home to be closer to children/grandchildren. “Mama” did not miss a recital, sport event, or birthday when back in North Carolina. Her last years were exceptionally filled with watching her great grandsons grow.
Lottie instilled a love in all by showing others attention, putting them first and always did so with kindness. She was a role model of how to live life as an example of God’s word.
She welcomed others as if they were part of her family and will be missed by everyone she encountered.
Visitation will be at the Trenton Methodist Church at 10 AM on Friday, December 30th, service following at 11 AM, and burial at Trenton Cemetery immediately following.
