God called Yoly home to his peace and love, as well as to be with her beloved Bob this week. God loaned her to us for just a short time in which she used to live and bless many with her loving heart, quick wit, and unique charm. Next to her for love God and Bob, was her well-known love of her dogs which all who knew her quickly care to know.
Yoly and Bob were not blessed with children of their own. However, this allowed her to be a mother, aunt, and grandmother to whoever was God blessed enough to encounter her love and guidance. This led to her being known by many names Grandma Yoly, Grandma Wanda, Auntie Yoly, or simply Wanda to name a few. Whatever the name used in reference to her, like the poet said, “A Rose by any name would still smells just as sweet”; Yoly was a rose in a world of thorns! Nevertheless, even with her tender heart she was prone to bark at times. But, like her dogs she seldom bit and when she did it was usually only a reflection of her love for someone she cared about. Her big smile and unique words only she could get away with saying, let you know you were loved.
Yoly lived a very full life but not long enough for those of us who loved and cared for her. The tremendous void of her passing into God’s care will be felt by many, yet we find peace in God’s Son’s eternal promise “To never leave or forsake those who that believe in him”. Yoly leaves to cherish her memory a host of family and friends. Yoly’s family however, does not resemble a Norman Rockwell painting. It is made up of all God’s shades and languages, with members around the world.
Just as when they were first married, Yoly and Bob are now reunited again in God’s eternal love.
