Larry is survived by his wife, Stella Delzer; his daughter, Priscilla Richards and granddaughters, Desaree and Eliana of Seattle, Washington; his son, Darrin Delzer of New Bern, N.C.; and son, David Delzer of San Leandro, California.
My sweet Larry was born on March 22, 1945 in Bismark, N.D. to Otto and Grace Delzer. He graduated from Wahpeton High School in Wahpeton, N.D. He enlisted in the U.S. Army (1965 to 1967) and was a Vietnam Veteran who served his country proudly. He began working for Caterpillar in San Leandro, California where he retired after working twenty-three years. He then worked at the Alameda Naval Base in Alameda, CA and the Oakland Coliseum in Oakland, CA for twenty-five years. He relocated to New Bern, N.C. to work at Cherry Point Marine Corps Air Station in Havelock, N.C., where he retired after twenty years as a civil servant.
A Celebration of Life drive-thru is scheduled for October 24th from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Delzer Family Home. All are welcome to attend and celebrate my sweet Larry's life.
