I am thinking of You Karen heavily this morning.  I wish You were still with Us.

I am Linda's  and Karen's first cousin.  Her mother Marie was my mother's sister.   As a teenager, I babysat many times for the girls.  I would always make macaroni and tomatoes for our supper.  

I am distressed that I did not know until this evening that Karen had died.  My sympathies are with her sons, and her sister Linda.  And also with  with her beloved Cooper.  I want to believe that Karen and her son Ryan have had a joyful reunion, and what a joy it would have been.  

I wish I could attend her funeral service this weekend, but alas, I am not able to do so.  Please forgive me for missing it.  

I watched her mother's funeral on line.  

  I will miss Karen dreadfully.

I was fortunate enough to meet and befriend Karen when she came to work with us and for Dr. Billy Bell after her retirement from Carolina East. She worked as a part time nurse to help us out. Karen was spunky, honest and so giving. There is a saying; “ the way to a persons heart is thru the stomach” rang  true with Karen. She was a great cook and often brought us some tasty dishes and the most wonderful deserts just because.  We became good friends, often times having deep conversations about life events and family. I remember one day expressing to Karen about a young female patient  and wanting to do something for her. Karen then brought to work what looked like a designer bag full of a collection of costume jewelry in which we would give our patient a piece of jewelry at every visit so that  she would feel beautiful.  I also gathered my most favorite recipes from her as she was always willing to share them. I recall her telling me of how much she missed a son who had left this world a little too soon. I imagine that they have finally reunited. Karen was a young person at heart. We talked about going to watch a Bruno Mars concert. We talked about how she loved her friends. The memories They’re all coming back to me now. Karen my dear sweet friend, I will miss you. I especially will think of you every time I look at the Clinique makeup and the este lauder lipsticks you gave me because you thought that I looked good wearing red and toasted almond lipsticks. I will miss it all. Rest In Peace my dear sweet friend. Heaven has added another angel. A spunky one!😂! Have a long awaited visit with your son my sweet friend  and take it all in  until we meet again.  ❤️

Karen and I worked together in ICU for many years. She was a very caring nurse and always had a smile on her face. She loved what she did and she loved her family. I know she will be missed by many. Prayers to her family. Memories will help you smile again. RIP my friend.

I , too, worked with Karen for years in ICU.  She was a wonderful, caring nurse and coworker;  a friend to us all.  I have not seen her in several years, but we kept in touch, and I loved the FB pics of her sweet baby Cooper.   My heart goes out to her son and family.  She will truly be missed by many.  May God give you all peace, comfort and strength during this very sad time..

Karen was a coworker and a friend.  Her smile and sense of humor were enjoyed by many.  We will miss her.  Thoughts and prayers for her family during this sad time.

Like many others I worked with Karen in ICU at the hospital. Even after I left we stayed in touch.  She was wonderful in every way. Loved her patients, friends, even most of the Doctors😁. She was a joy to be around and always uplifting.  She had some really big shoulders when I needed at times. She had heart that was made of gold.  She will be missed. 

I worked with Karen in ICU for a number of years.  She was a great nurse.  Karen was so easy going and caring.  She was a joy to work with and even in retirement she was happy to reach out and help others.   I will miss her as will many others.  God bless Karen and her family.

I worked with Karen in the ICU for many years   She was an excellent nurse ...I loved working with her--   she made everyday so enjoyable and her patients loved her.  Prayers for her family.   She will be missed.
