Joni Michelle Kornegay

Joni Michelle Kornegay, 40, of Cove City, went home to be with the Lord on July 31st, 2018. She was a wonderful daughter, sister, aunt, and friend who will be remembered for her loving and compassionate spirit. Joni held a B.S. in Nursing from East Carolina University and had served as a pianist at Riverside Methodist, Clarks Methodist, and most recently at her home church in Asbury.

She is lovingly survived by her parents, Kenneth and Clara Kornegay; her brother, Reggie Kornegay (Jackie); her sister, Kristy K. Long (Brian); five nieces, Amber Kornegay, Kassidy Kornegay, Cheyenne Kornegay, Abby Dail, and Kenzie Kornegay; one nephew, Chase Dail; and her fur baby, "Mia."

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, August 4th in the fellowship hall at Asbury United Methodist Church, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Colonial Capital Humane Society or to Asbury United Methodist Church.

Services are entrusted into the care of Cotten Funeral Home & Crematory.
