Johnnie spent most of his time on this earth doing what he loved most-being a devoted husband to his beautiful wife of 68 years, a father to his two daughters, a doting grandfather to his one and only granddaughter, and a proud great grandfather, to his now six-year-old sassy little great granddaughter.
He enjoyed a rewarding, lifelong career in the automobile industry- selling cars to friends of old and new- near and far. He noted more often than not that he never went anywhere he didn't meet a new friend- more than likely selling them their most favorite vehicle! 2022 marked the end of his career of a remarkable 68 years!
Johnnie is preceded in death by his daughter, Karen Elizabeth Vogel Heath in 2010. He is survived by his loving wife, Marian, his youngest daughter, Mary Margaret, his only granddaughter, Sarah, and his great-granddaughter, Karyn Grace.
The family thanks the staff at Carolina East Cancer Care and Craven County Hospice (especially Karen and Jessica), and family friend, Patty Mills for their tremendous support in Johnnie’s final days.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to Craven County Hospice.
