John was a retired transport driver for Texaco and honored by the National Safety Council for three million miles safe driving. He was born near the Ten Mile Fork area of Jones County and grew up in Pollocksville.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am Friday, July 22, 2016 at Cotten Funeral Home Chapel, family will receive friends one hour prior to service. Burial will follow at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
John was preceded in death by his late wife Claire Berry Ward. He is survived by his current wife, Carol Carawon Ward; son , Edward T. Ward,Sr. of Carrollton, GA.; daughter, Linda Ward Overton of Cadiz, KY. ; brother Joseph T. Ward of Rolesville, NC; 2 step-children; and 5 grandchildren.
