Jack was born in Washington, DC, but has called New Bern his home for the past 28 years. Jack joined the United States Marine Corps at the age of 17 and served honorably during World War II. He retired from Western Electric in 1983 after 35 years of service. He was an avid golfer at River Bend Country Club.
Jack is survived by his devoted wife of 62 years, Jean; his children, Sharon (Fred) McGuinn of Mechanicsville, VA; John (Sandy) Kraft of Haymarket, VA; Debbie (Ted) Good of Edenton, NC; Tom (Jan) Kraft of Dale City, VA; and Karen (John) Belser of Evans, GA; thirteen grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his loving brother, Donald Kraft, of King George, VA.
Jack’s memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at 11:00 am at St. Paul Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
