John Joseph Johnson

Born August 4, 1943 in Mount Kisco, New York to Joseph and Marion Johnson. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy May 1961-June 1964. After his long awaited return, he married the love of his life, Joyce, on May 15, 1965. He was a member of Teamsters Local 456, then owner of J&J Johnson Trucking. He volunteered for many years coaching youth baseball and football. He was a volunteer Fireman holding offices of Treasurer, Lieutenant, Captain and Chief at Chelsea Fire Department, and continuing with his service to his country, a proud member of The Elks, VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, golfing, road trips, snowmobiling and skiing. His greatest joy was his family and friends.

He is survived by his loving wife, Joyce, his children John Jr. (wife Tammy) of Stormville, NY, Duane (wife Candy) of New Bern, NC and Melisa of Newport Beach, CA; his grandchildren Christine (husband Mike), Sarah, Ashley, Johnny, Duane, Andrew, Danielle and Gabrielle; his great grandchildren Azalea and Jasmine; his siblings Richard, Betty (husband Fred) and Nancy; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and

friends.

The family will receive friends from 1:00pm to 3:00pm Saturday, January 27, 2024 at Cotten Funeral Home followed by a memorial service at 3:00pm.
