Jerry Walton Creech

Jerry was born in Johnston County, NC, the first of three children of Walton and Lellon Creech. He graduated from Wake Forest College in 1958. Jerry served 8 years in the Reserves for the Air Force. Jerry was hired as a Business Manager with Onslow Memorial Hospital in Jacksonville, NC. It was there that he met the love of his life, Betty Jones. They got married on October 21st, 1961, and had three sons, David, Byron, and Jon. Jerry worked 38 years with the Social Security Administration as Field Representative in New Bern, NC. Jerry loved sports of all kinds, but his real love was for the game of tennis. Jerry was a member of the Solid Rock Global Methodist Church of New Bern NC.

Preceded in death by his parents Walton and Lellon Creech. Jerry is survived by his wife of 62 years, Betty Creech, their three sons, David Creech, wife (Linda) of Maysville, Byron Creech of New Bern, Jonathan Creech, wife (Kelly) of New Bern, and their grandchildren, Kayleigh Creech of Raleigh, Rylee Ratchford of Maysville, Kory Dyar, Kasia Hall (Fiancée) of New Bern, Christopher Dyar of New Bern, Logan Creech of New Bern, brother, Dennis Creech (Ruth) of Fayetteville and sister Joye Goff of Raleigh.

A celebration of life will be held at Cotten Funeral Home, New Bern, NC Saturday, June 1st at 3pm.
