Always a hard worker, Jeremy started his first job at the age of 14, working with Mr. Frankie Watson on his tobacco farm for 2 years. Next, he worked with his Dad on his logging operation during his senior year at West Craven High School, before graduating in 1994. Following high school, Jeremy branched out on his own, starting "Cut-N-Up Logging." Eventually, he went back to work with his Dad's logging job and continued with him until he started another company, "Jeremy Broadway Trucking." He ran that company for 20 years, which grew to a fleet of 19 trucks. During this 20 years, remained one faithful driver, Hubert Quinerly, Jr., also known as "Timberwolf." After closing "Jeremy Broadway Trucking," he became a certified diesel mechanic through Coastal Carolina Community College. After a long career working in trucking and logging, Jeremy chose an easier path which led him to Harris Teeter, providing him a sense of joy and satisfaction.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Pete Broadway and maternal grandparents, Jr. and Gladys Holmes.
He is survived by his parents, Jimmy and Jo Ann Broadway of Vanceboro; brother, Jamie Broadway (Julie) of Vanceboro; grandmother, Mary Broadway of New Bern; and nieces, Summer Gayle Broadway and Ashli Hackenberg (Reece); nephew, Chase Branton.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2023 at the funeral home.
Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 28, 2023 at Celestial Memorial Gardens in Vanceboro.
