Jean Ann Kraft

RIVER BEND - Jean Ann Kraft, 86, of River Bend, went home to be with the Lord and to be reunited with her beloved husband, Jack; her daughter, Donna; and her parents, William and Ruth Breads, on June 16, 2017.

Jean was born on August 27, 1930 in Rome, New York. She and Jack married in June 1950 and lived in the Northern Virginia area until retiring to New Bern in 1983. Jean worked for the Federal government for over 10 years and devoted herself to raising their six children. She was an avid golfer and was a 31-year member of the LGA at River Bend Country Club.

Jean is survived by her children, Sharon (Fred) McGuinn of Mechanicsville, VA; John (Sandy) Kraft of Gainesville, VA; Debbie (Ted) Good of Merry Hill, NC; Tom (Jan) Kraft of Pittsboro, NC; and Karen (John) Belser of Evans, GA. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren.

Jean’s memorial mass will be held on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Paul Catholic Church in New Bern. Burial will follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
