James Leroy Stahl

He was a wonderful Husband, Father and Grandfather. He served 26 years in the US Navy and retired as a Senior chief petty officer. He was a member of the Shooting Stars Parachute Team with over 1300 jumps. He worked 10 years with McDonnell–Douglas Aircraft and 10 years as a Civil Service Employee at Cherry Point. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping and spent every summer camping at Kerr Lake.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Kenneth and Helen Stahl; brother Robert Allan Stahl; and sister Marilyn Joyce Stahl.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Evans Stahl; son, Michael Wayne Stahl (Keisha) of New Bern; daughters, Sharon Lynn Stahl of Greensboro, Lisa Gail Klusman of Winchester, VA and Vesta Juanita Surles (Patrick) of Raleigh; brother, Richard Dwayne Stahl (Sharon) of Fairmount, WV; sister-in-law Ruth Stahl of Arizona; grandchildren Heather Marie Moquin (Aaron), Kristina Faye Hottinger, Adrienne Stahl Turner (Taylor), Kayla Joy Surles, Emma Joelle Surles, and Keenan Johanna Surles and eight great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held 10:00am Thursday, June 2, 2022 at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.
