Hector Mario Zubia passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022, at home with his niece Christina (Cha-Cha) Zubia. Where he lived with his brother Rosario (Paul) Zubia, Hector Olguin Lopez, and Great Nieces and Nephews, Yazmin-Rae & Yianelli Olguin, Marcos & Michael Garcia, Selena & Jayla Martinez, And his pride and joy, his baby Johnny-Angel Ray Olguin.
Mario was born and raised in Chihuahua, Mexico, on his family ranch where he was raised alongside 4 brothers and 2 sisters. He loved fishing and horseback riding and taking care of the family’s animals. Mario would later move to Dallas, Tx. Where he would meet the love of his life Teresita and would become not only her life partner but a big part of an amazing family. He was a stepdad, grandfather, uncle, And brother-in-law. Mario’s greatest joy was becoming Daddy to his daughter Amanda, who he loved very much; he cherished every moment with her as Amanda did with her Daddy! Mario loved traveling back and forth with his family from TX to his hometown in Mexico.
Mario later moved to North Carolina 2007, where he lived with his brother and Sister-in-law Sina. Where he would help his brother take care of his wife and family. Mario would become one of his niece Christina’s Best friends, Mario would always go with Christina anywhere she needed him to go and was always by her side. Mario was an amazing uncle who loved all of Christina’s children as his very own. He spent all his time with Christina and the children as they all lived together for the last 4 years. Mario’s pride and joy was Christina’s youngest son, Johnny-Angel who he loved with all his heart. Mario or ‘Uncle monkey’ as the children called him will miss him very much. His memory will live on forever.
He is Survived by his brother and Sisters Maria Estela, Juan, Virgilio, and Claudia Azucena Zubia, of Nuevo Casa Grandes Chihuahua, Mexico. Cosme Zubia Of Phoenix, Arizona, Rosario (Paul) Zubia of New Bern North Carolina, Niece Christina (Cha-Cha) Zubia of New Bern. NC, and his daughter Amanda Alvarez of Dallas Texas, granddaughters & other grandchildren, also many Nieces & Nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
Mario had a big heart and he could make a friend anywhere he went! He will be loved and missed by many!
Mario is preceded in death by his father, Cesario Zubia Rascon & mother, Zenaida Gonzale vda. De Zubia. Life partner Teresita Diaz, Sister-in-law Sina Lockey Zubia, nephews John Paul Zubia, Daniel Rios, and Santiago Rios.
A Celebration of Hector's Life will be held on Sunday, February 20, 2022 at 3:00 PM at Cotten Funeral Home.
