Harry Stewart Sr.

Harry G. Stewart, Sr., 79, of Ernul, passed away on Friday, November 3rd, 2017. Harry was born in Peoria, Illinois in 1938, and lived most of his life in Eastern North Carolina, graduating from New Bern High School. While attending UNC-Chapel Hill, he made the decision to return home following the death of his father to take over the family business that would later become Stewart Equipment Company. While most wouldn't consider work a hobby, Harry was the happiest when he was at the business or operating his equipment.

He is survived by his daughter, Susan S. Cherry (Greg); his son, Harry G. Stewart, Jr. (Billie Jo); his daughter, Clarissa S. Heath; sister, Audrey Stewart; and five grandchildren, Blaine Cherry, Nathan Stewart, Gavin Stewart, Brayden Stewart, and Lauren Tripp. He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry Theodore Stewart and Mildred Stewart; his brother, David Stewart; and his grandson, Garrett Tippett.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.Tuesday, November 7th at Cotten Funeral Home. Service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 8th at the Lakeside Chapel of Greenleaf Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Lewy Body Dementia Association, 912 Killian Hill Road S.W., Lilburn, GA 30047.
