Harry Claude Duncan Sr.

Harry proudly joined the Marine Corp in 1968 and served during the Vietnam War. After the war Harry came back to New Bern and worked at the Sun Journal for over 20 years, where many knew him as "The Paper Man." Not only did he serve his country, Harry faithfully served God and was an active member for many years at Croatan FWB Church. Harry was a loving husband and was very devoted to his family. He loved his Rottweiler, Dixie, who was his best friend, next to Susan.

He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Susan Duncan; children, Harry Duncan, Jr. and Jennifer Klicker and husband, Kyle; grandchildren, Harry Duncan III, Casey Duncan, and Keely Klicker; daughter-in-law, Sabine Duncan; siblings, Geneva McLamb, Cathy Duncan, and James Duncan; and several loving family and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, JC and Catherine Duncan; and son, David Duncan.

A Celebration of Harry's Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, December 8, 2021 at Cotten Funeral Home with Rev. Harry Bryan officiating the service. The burial will follow at Croatan Community Cemetery in New Bern.
