Gwendolyn Elizabeth Christie

Gwendolyn "Gwen" Elizabeth Christie, 74, of New Bern, went home to be with the Lord on June 7, 2022. Gwen was born on March 1, 1948 in Jersey City, New Jersey to the late James and Gwendolyn Dick. Gwen was a member of Centenary United Methodist Church and a lifelong homemaker.

She is survived by her children, Jennifer Quinn (Kevin) of Cove City, Melissa Belote of New Bern, Mary Weigl (Ed) of New Bern, John Christie (Angela) of Hendersonville, TN, and Andrew Christie (Mandi) of New Bern; her grandchildren, Victoria, Payton, Perry, Skylar (Cole), Juliana, Asher, Joseph, Madison, James, Lillian, and Jacob; and one great-grandson, Braxton.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband, John, on January 23, 2013.

The family will receive friends at Cotten Funeral Home from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2022 followed by the funeral service at 11 a.m. in the Chapel. She will be laid to rest at 2 p.m. at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.

Family will also receive friends at other times at the home of Ed and Mary Weigl.
