Gregory Scott Rhodes

Gregory Scott Rhodes, 48, of Durham, NC passed away on Friday, May 5, 2023. Greg was born in New Bern, NC on February 11, 1975. Greg leaves behind many family and friends to cherish his memory. He was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn Tippett Rhodes, and his brothers Christopher and Paul Rhodes, Jr.

Greg is survived by his father Paul Rhodes, Sr., and Penny Hyde of New Bern. His brother, David Rhodes and David’s wife Shannon, and their daughter Carys of River Bend, NC. He also leaves behind a long-time friend, Jeffrey Merritt of Winterville, NC.

Greg worked for many years in retail management including roles for Apple, LVMH, Gap, American Eagle, and Belk. Greg grew up in Trent Woods, NC, and was a 1993 graduate of New Bern High School. He was an NC Teaching Fellow and graduated from the University of NC at Wilmington in 1997.

There will be a celebration of Greg’s life held at Cotten Funeral Home in New Bern on Thursday, May 18th from 6 to 8 pm. The family would like to invite those who knew and loved Greg to attend.
