George E. DeBruhl, of Cove City passed away on Monday October 30, 2023. After months of declining health, he died peacefully in the home of his niece in Cove City with his beloved family and friends by his side.
George was born on January 16, 1944 in Craven County, NC to Katherine Pritchard DeBruhl and Nathaniel Braxton DeBruhl.
He graduated from Jasper High School. After graduating he began his career as a tool diemaker/ Machinist at Stanley Tool , which later became Bosch.
He retired from Bosch after 35 years of service. He then worked at Moen for 5 + years until he retired to enjoy some of his passions.
George loved vintage cars / street rods and of course they had to have Performance engines to satisfy his need for speed.
George’s love for animals always kept his yard filled with the natural beauty from his pet peacocks and a faithful dog companion at his side.
George is preceded in death by his parents Katherine and Nathaniel Debruhl; brother Nat Jr. DeBruhl, sisters Suzanne D. Rainey and Sara D. Drake.
George is survived by his wife Jane Willis DeBruhl, Children: Brannon Willis and Lesley Cuyler. Grandchildren : Bobby Willis, Erick Willis, Taylor Willis and Trevor Willis. Great- Grandchildren: Sha Ron Billing, Tinley Willis, Preslee Johnson and Trever D. Willis Jr. ; Sister, Rose DeBruhl: Brother in laws: Lee Rainey and Curtis Drake Jr. Nieces: Bonnie Jones, LeeAnn Price, Kay Brandmahl and Susan Drake Boyd. Nephews: Lee Rainey Jr. and Nat Rainey. Great Nieces and Nephews: Ryan Boyd, Amy Beverage, Ryan Jones, Kelly Martin, Leslee Blake, Garrett Rainey and Forrest Rainey.
George will be remembered for his Servants heart, his love for animals and vintage cars. His life was richly blessed with life long friends. In his memory, please feel welcome to drive your vintage/hotrod and wear your favorite hot rod attire to escort him to his final resting place.
The family will receive visitors from 1:00-2:00 pm on Thursday, November 2, 2023, at Cotten Funeral Home. A Celebration of George's Life will begin at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jason Jones officiating. Following the service, George will be laid to rest at Greenleaf Memorial Park.
