Frances Vaughan Laskovics

Fran was born in Richmond, VA on August 22, 1952. She graduated from James Madison College in 1972 at the age of 19. She was an elementary media coordinator for Craven County schools in North Carolina for 35 years, earning many awards.

Fran loved the North Carolina coastal living, surf fishing and camping on the beach. She loved North Carolina folk literature and would enthrall her classes with readings. Fran was an excellent cook and would always have family and friends for feasts. Fran was a caregiver for her mother. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Fran attended Saint Paul Catholic Church in New Bern, NC and served on the Saint Paul Catholic School board for 7 years.

Fran is survived by her husband of 36 years, Paul "Buck" Laskovics; son, Stephen F. Laskovics; daughter-in-law, Meredith Amerson Laskovics; grandson, Frederick S. Laskovics of New Bern NC; sister, Gray Albritton (Billy) of Chocowinity, NC; brother, Charles Vaughan (Bettie) of Lawrenceville, VA.

A funeral mass will be held January 16, 2023 at Saint Paul Catholic Church in New Bern, NC at

11:00 am. Friends and family can visit an hour before mass at 10:00 am at the church. Burial and graveside will be at 4277 NC Hwy 55 E, New Bern, NC. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Saint Paul Catholic School in New Bern, NC.
