Ernest Jerome Robinson III

On Saturday, April 10, 2021 Ernest Jerome Robinson III, passed away at the age of 57 after fighting a long battle with lung cancer. EJ was born on March 12, 1964 in Laurel, MD to Ernest & Beverly (Smith) Robinson. He grew up in Laurel before moving to Richmond, VA among other places and finally moving to New Bern, NC a few years ago.

EJ spent most of his life as a carpenter and helped build many homes in Virginia. He loved his time at the beach with his family. He liked listening to his music loud and he never missed a crab feast. He loved cooking them as much as eating them.

EJ was preceded in death by this father, Ernest J. Robinson, Jr., and his mother Beverly Jean Hubbuch. He is survived by his step mother; Peggi Robinson, step father; Christopher Hubbuch, sisters; Darlene Brecht and Sharon Cocchiola, family friend and caregiver; Joyce Davis and his four children; Ernest Jerome Robinson IV (Jay), Wayne Christopher Robinson, Brandy Nicole Robinson, and Lyndsey Jean Robinson, along with 3 grandchildren (and 1 on the way) and many nieces and nephews who refer to him as Crazy Uncle EJ.

A private family celebration of his life will be held in his neighborhood in New Bern, NC and at a later time in Virginia. Donations can be made in EJ’s name to Craven County Hospice, P.O. Drawer 12610, New Bern, NC 28561
